Mingei – Parent-child leathercraft workshop: leather bracelets

The Tuesday 22 December at 14 a.m15

Office de Tourisme 14360 TROUVILLE-SUR-MER

A workshop where participants work side by side. On Tuesday 22 December, from 2.15 pm to 3.15 pm, the Trouville-sur-Mer Tourist Office is bringing together children aged 5 to 7 and one of their parents for a leathercraft session, led by Stéphanie Sublemontier-Vauclin, a saddler and leatherworker.

Everyone will create their own leather bracelet: choosing the design, the colour of the clasp, and then the leaves, lace or cord that will leave their patterns imprinted on the leather. To personalise their creation, they can have their first name stamped onto it. The younger children discover the craft’s techniques at their own pace, whilst the adults lend a hand when needed – and often enjoy it just as much.

Lasting one hour and tailored to the attention spans of the little ones, the workshop is led by the founder of Mingei, a traditional leather goods workshop on the Côte Fleurie. Both bracelets, their clasps and all the materials are provided.

Each pair leaves with two matching bracelets… or not at all, depending on what each person prefers.
