Mingei – Leathercraft workshop: leather notebook (teenagers and adults)

A notebook that develops a patina over time and eventually takes on the shape of your daily routines: this is the item that Stéphanie Sublemontier-Vauclin, a saddler and leatherworker, invites you to make during a workshop organised by the Trouville-sur-Mer Tourist Office on Tuesday 22 December, from 3.45 pm to 5.45 pm.
Over the course of two hours, participants will create their own vegetable-tanned leather notebook from start to finish: choosing the leather and fastenings, cutting out the cover, embossing their initials or first name, and finishing and assembling the inner pages. Stéphanie will guide participants through each step and share the tricks of the trade. The workshop is open to anyone aged 13 and over, with no prior experience required.
After starting her career in communications, Stéphanie trained in leathercraft in Paris before founding Mingei, her artisan workshop on the Côte Fleurie. The leather, accessories, inner notebook and use of tools are all included.
Whether it’s a travel journal, a recipe book, a sketchbook or a gift list: it’s up to you to decide what story it will tell – or to give it as a present.
