The Les Toiles de Verre workshop welcomes curious visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in the world of stained glass and glass arts. A range of creative workshops is available for individuals, families or groups of friends, offering the chance to discover techniques as varied as leaded glass, the Tiffany method and fusing.
Each session is tailored to a specific age group and skill level: the youngest children (from 3 years old) can try their hand at making suncatchers or wind chimes to decorate, whilst teenagers and adults can try their hand at glass painting, creating rose windows, coats of arms or a proper half-day introduction to stained glass. An adult-child duo package is also available for the introductory sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The workshop is led by a passionate craftsperson, steeped in the tradition of stained-glass artists, and keen to pass on her enthusiasm for this material with its endless possibilities.
► SESSIONS:
> Saturdays 17, 24 and 31 October
– 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm: introduction to the art of stained glass, making a glass suncatcher — adults and children aged 12 and over — €70 per adult / €55 per child / €90 for a parent-child pair
> Tuesdays 20 and 27 October
– 2.00 pm – 2.45 pm: wind chimes (Halloween, pirates or rainbow) and scratch cards — aged 3 to 6 — €11
– 3.00 pm – 4.00 pm: stained-glass paper lantern (Halloween or autumn) — aged 8 and over — €12
> Wednesdays 21 and 28 October
– 10.00 am – 10.45 am: suncatcher (dinosaur or unicorn) and scratch card — ages 3 to 6 — €10
– 11.00 am – 12.30 pm: stained-glass paper craft (Halloween or seaside) — ages 8 and over — €11
– 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm: introduction to the art of stained glass, making a glass suncatcher — aged 12 and over — €70 per adult / €55 per child / €90 for a pair
> Thursdays 22 and 29 October
– 10.00 am – 10.50 am: freestanding suncatcher (unicorn, fairy or seaside) — ages 5 to 7 — €12
– 11.00 am – 12.30 pm: ceramic painting, choice of piece and subject — aged 8 and over — €14
– 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm: introduction to stained glass art, making a glass suncatcher — ages 12 and over — €70 per adult / €55 per child / €90 for a pair
> Fridays 23 and 30 October
– 11.15 am – 12.30 pm: glass painting, framed rose window or coat of arms — ages 8 and over — €15
– 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm: introduction to stained glass, group activity — €30 per person
