Every year in July, the pretty little market town of Briouze comes alive with 21,000 visitors and locals alike, all coming together to celebrate a festival often sold out well in advance. It’s hard to beat the vibe and the line-up of this reasonably-sized music event featuring a great medley of tastes and genres. Enjoy a wild escape in nearby Norman Switzerland while you’re in the area.
Art Sonic welcomes a host of big names
Two days of festivities, music and camping in the heart of the lush Orne countryside. Art Sonic and Briouze, a love affair that’s been going on for over 25 years!
On 24 and 25 July 2026, the atmosphere in the Orne region will be crazy as soon as the first chords are played. This year’s line-up includes: Dub Inc, Matmatah, Ultra Vomit, Luiza and Niska.

Local products galore
The message is clear: promote local produce and short distribution channels! Let’s start with the volunteers. Many people from Briouze and the Orne county work hard to organise the festival and provide a warm welcome to the public.
On site, festival-goers can enjoy the unmissable Gillot PDO Camembert on a melted grill with as much bread as you can eat. All for just 4€! The festival will also be selling its own beer, brewed in partnership with the breweries La Trotteuse from Saint-Brice-sous-Rânes and La Chahuteuse from Argentan. The meat, the potatoes for the fries and the cider all come from the region. The vegan dishes and homemade ice cream are made less than 10 km from Briouze.
Waste management is remarkable, with over 80% of waste being recycled. Like the Grandes Marées festival, Art Sonic has signed the Drastic on Plastic charter, with the aim of achieving zero waste and reducing the amount of plastic on site.
For families, there’s a special programme for young people (3 to 12 years old) on Saturday afternoon.
And while you’re in the area, make the most of your stay and explore the beautiful Norman Switzerland (Suisse Normande) area!
