Granville’s sea water swimming pool

Don’t miss the chance to do your laps in this glorious natural swimming pool on Granville’s beach of “la plage du Plat Gousset”, a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. This seawater pool is a great option to cool down when the sea at low tide is a few kilometres away. Hardly surprising when you think Granville closes off the Bay of the Mont-Saint-Michel, home to some of the highest tides in Europe.

Le Havre’s designer swimming pool

After a long day of traveling or sightseeing, there’s nothing like a refreshing dip in the Bains des Docks in Le Havre, designed by reputed French architect Jean Nouvel. With gorgeous designs and indulgent features, this 5000 square metre aquatic centre comprises 12 pools, including a 50 x 21 metre outdoor pool, several leisure pools, a sauna, steam room, spa and fitness room.

Deauville’s sea water swimming pool

The water of this Olympic pool stretching over 50m long on Deauville seafront is pumped offshore and then heated to 28° to offer a splendid bathing experience. Swim suits, goggles and accessories can be found on site. Enjoy a swim with the kids at the Pompeian Baths near the main pool, which feature stunning art deco architecture. Beach cabins can also be rented for a day.

Trouville-sur-Mer leisure centre

Trouville is renowned as one of the traditional French seaside destinations, so if you fancy a splash of vintage glamour, head to its open-air swimming pool. It’s retro architecture has numerous features of note: its curves and portholes overlooking the sea. Open in July and August only, it perfectly completes a seaside getaway in this lively historic coastal resort. Indulge on a terrace along the promenade Savignac after your laps, the perfect spot to sit back and relax.
