[School children] Fossils, shells and the evolution of species by Geologic-Diffusion
At low tide, the beach at Lion-sur-Mer reveals a treasure trove of Jurassic fossils, as well as modern-day shells, cuttlefish bones and other remains. These animals, despite the 167 million years that separate them, have both similarities and differences. How can this be possible? And why? This activity for schoolchildren offers a fun way for pupils to study fossils and shells. Yohann Poprawski, a geologist who will use the various specimens discovered, explains the various families, shows you their differences and similarities that help classify the different types, illustrating the principles of the evolution of species.
