Omaha Beach

Omaha Beach, also known as the Golden Beach, deserves its name for its fine golden sand. Over 6km long, this beach, which was the scene of the Normandy Landings in June 44, is also a place to relax, suitable for both water sports and seaside activities. Soak up the sun with your toes outstretched, while the children make their sandcastles.
Colleville-sur-Mer lies in the heart of the dunes in a green setting, ideal for sand yachting, kite flying and other sporting activities. Swimming is just as popular.
Saint Laurent-sur-Mer is a very lively beach. Many locals and tourists frequent it. Beach games and swimming are the order of the day.
Vierville-sur-Mer is a more family-friendly beach, perfect for relaxing and swimming. Along its cliffs, you can also go fishing on foot.
Practical info:
Car parks are located close to the beaches.
During July and August, the 3 beaches are supervised by lifeguards, on duty 7 days a week from 12pm to 7pm.
During the same period, “the library at the beach” is offered at Vierville-sur-Mer (org: town hall).
Walking hand in hand, enjoying the sunset or taking part in a fun activity, Omaha Beach is well worth a visit!
