Guided tours of the D-Day landing beaches by See My Normandy
Karine Poullard, a passionate tour guide, invites you to spend a day exploring the D-Day landing beaches in her vehicle.
Departure will be from your place of stay or a location agreed with you within the geographical area of the urban community of Caen la mer.
The excursion will begin with a presentation of the Allied landings on 6 June 1944, or “D-Day”, followed by a programme of visits of your choice depending on your nationality or wishes:
Omaha Beach and Gold Beach (American and British sectors)
– Pointe du Hoc
– Omaha Beach
– American Cemetery
– German battery at Longues sur mer
– Arromanches: Gold Beach
– British Cemetery
D-Day Gold Beach and Juno Beach (British and Canadian sector)
– German battery at Longues sur mer
– Arromanches
– Ver sur mer / Gold Beach Memorial
– Courseulles sur mer / Juno Beach
– Bény/Reviers Canadian Cemetery
D-Day Sword Beach and Pegasus Bridge (British and French sectors)
– Hermanville sur mer / Sword Beach
– Ouistreham
– Pegasus Bridge
– Merville Battery (entrance fee included)
– Ranville British Cemetery
Guided tours in French or English.
Public: Adults / Teenagers / Families.
The sites are generally accessible to people with disabilities, with the exception of Pointe du Hoc where the paths are uneven.
There is room in the vehicle for a folding wheelchair. Please note, however, that Karine Poullard will not have the physical strength to carry, or even help carry, a person from the wheelchair to the car seat.
The guidance service cannot be provided in sign language.
Equipment and weather :
The tour includes outdoor visits: bring warm, waterproof clothing, even if it is not raining, because of the wind and humidity. The tour will continue even if it is cold or slightly raining, or if it is windy. In the event of extremely bad weather, the tour may be cancelled. In this case, visitors who have already paid will be refunded.
Please note The price of €650 includes guiding and transport by See My Normandy for 4 people. Bottles of water are provided in the vehicle. Clients are responsible for their own meals. Departure at 9am and return at the end of the day around 6pm.
This is a private tour by reservation only. Bookings can be made up to 2 days before the day of the tour.
