Free guided tours – (De)colonisations exhibition
This summer, the Caen Memorial is offering free guided tours of the exhibition (De)colonisations: African Artists Question History.
‘(De)colonisations’ gives a voice to African artists and those from the diaspora.
As you make your way through the exhibition, the guide will lead you through its main themes: Africans in Wars, The Order of Injustice, Resistance, The Ambiguous Adventure and A World to Rebuild. These stages offer an opportunity to explore memory and its transmission, the consequences of colonisation and decolonisation, as well as the challenges facing the world today. The tour also highlights the wide variety of works on display — paintings, canvases, photographs and sculptures — which bear witness to the richness of contemporary African creativity.
Every day at 3.00 pm, from 4 July to 30 August 2026.
These free tours last 1 hour 30 minutes (subject to availability | groups of up to 30 people).
