[For school groups] Normandy through the eyes of 19th-century writers – a guided tour with storytelling and dramatisation

An immersion in 19th-century Normandy through the works of contemporary writers (Maupassant, Flaubert, etc.). During a tour designed to feel like a journey through the region, the pupils
take on the roles of various Norman archetypes (day labourer, milkmaid, bourgeois, etc.). Among them, some are suspects in an investigation that plunges them into the heart of 19th-century customs and the historical and social context of the period. Together, they conduct investigations and interrogations based on the mechanics of role-play.

Paced by reading sessions, this guided tour—which combines storytelling and role-play—enables pupils to compare the reality of society with the way of life of the protagonists in the literary works studied in class.
