Two perspectives on film photography
The Tuesday 27 October at 14 a.m00
Espace Saint-Patrice 1, rue du marché 14400 BAYEUX
From 27 October to 5 November 2026, the Espace Saint-Patrice in Bayeux is hosting the exhibition *Deux regards sur l'argentique* (*Two Perspectives on Analogue Photography*), bringing together Bernard Fanzini and Philippe Marie, two passionate photographers and members of the Vues du Bessin club.
Through some 70 black-and-white film photographs, the two artists invite us on a journey spanning several decades of photography, featuring landscapes, plays of light, unusual details and moments of everyday life.
Two photographers, two sensibilities, one shared passion. Bernard Fanzini explores contrasts, shadows and light to evoke emotion. Philippe Marie, who began his photography career in his bathroom—which he had converted into a darkroom—is drawn to contrasting compositions, unexpected scenes and the artisanal aspect of film photography.
At a time when photographs are taken and deleted in a matter of seconds, this exhibition reminds us of the pleasure of taking our time, observing and capturing the moment.
A wonderful opportunity to rediscover the charm of film photography, its imperfections, its surprises and all its poetry!
