Les Passeurs – Louis Imbert: ‘From Gaza to Tehran: an account of three years of Israeli wars’

Written in Israel and Palestine before the deadly attack carried out by Hamas on 7 October 2023, and then during the destruction of Gaza, his book *The First Six Days of October* follows in the footsteps of Blaise Cendrars, Charles Reznikoff and the American ‘Objectivists’ – a form of ‘documentary poetry’. Here, literature raises an ethical question: it is a matter of accurately depicting, as closely as possible, an era in which force prevails, transforming “beings into things and souls into stones”.
Louis Imbert will bear witness to the protracted war into which Israel has plunged since 7 October, waging war in five countries in the region (Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Qatar), before dragging the United States into an attempt at regime change in Iran.
