Concert: Saxophone and Piano
The Sunday 25 October at 17 a.m00
Eglise Saint Augustin Square de l'Église 14800 DEAUVILLE
The aim of this concert is to demonstrate, through the performances of two young musicians, that the saxophone is not confined to jazz, but can be used to brilliant effect in classical or contemporary music.
DMITRI OUVAROFF on saxophone
Trained at the prestigious Russian music school, Dmitri Ouvaroff studied at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in St Petersburg, before continuing his training in France under the saxophonist Vincent David. This dual training, at the crossroads of Russian and French traditions, has shaped an interpretative style that is at once powerful, refined and unique.
A virtuoso concert performer, Dmitri enjoys an international career, both as a soloist and as part of major ensembles. He has been a guest artist with prestigious organisations such as the Mariinsky Theatre and the St Petersburg Philharmonic Academy. He performs regularly at renowned festivals: Wittenberg, Aix-en-Provence and Padua, as well as at the Saint Petersburg Days in China in Beijing and the Moscow Easter Festival. In 2019, he became an associate artist with the DAU art and film project in Paris. Since 2020, he has been a member of the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in Palermo.
His extensive repertoire ranges from the Baroque to contemporary works, with a particular focus on rare or seldom-performed pieces.
Alongside his performing career, Dmitri is the founder and director of the Russian School of Arts in Paris, where he passes on his passion and high artistic standards to younger generations.
ELDANIZ ALAKBARZADE on piano
Eldaniz Alakbarzade is an Azerbaijani pianist born in 1996 in Baku. He studied the piano under Vera Koryukova, Tamara Pecheneva, Mikhail Benediktov and Alla Afandiyeva. A prize-winner at several international competitions, he notably won the Grand Prix at the World Harmony Competition, as well as first prizes at competitions in Baku, Saint Petersburg and Izmir. He has performed at prestigious festivals and venues such as the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, the Gabala International Music Festival, the Salle Cortot in Paris, Vrij Paleis and the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam, as well as in numerous churches and cultural centres across France. As part of the “Nouveaux Noms” project, he performed as a soloist with the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand and works by Chopin, amongst others. He also performs chamber music alongside artists such as Nadine Sierra and Valery Vorona. Since 2022, he has been furthering his studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris in Rena Shereshevskaya’s class, where in 2025 he was awarded the Artist’s Diploma – Third Cycle with the distinction ‘Very Good’ and ‘With the Jury’s Congratulations’.
The concert is organised by Les Amis de l’Orgue de Deauville, an association founded in 1999 to promote and develop all musical and artistic activities centred around the organ at Saint-Augustin Church in Deauville.
