Casino Barrière Deauville 2 rue Edmond Blanc 14800 DEAUVILLE
Peter Kingsbery grew up in Austin, Texas, where he studied classical music. He then moved to Nashville (Tennessee), where he began a career as a musician and songwriter. In the early 1970s, he worked as a keyboardist for Brenda Lee, touring with her across the US and Japan.
In 1982, Peter Kingsbery formed the band Cock Robin. Their eponymous album was released in 1985. He went on to achieve two further platinum albums with the band, thanks to his superb voice and a keen sense of composition and arrangement. Six tracks reached the Top 50. The band split up and Peter Kingsbery embarked on a solo career.
In 2006, Cock Robin reformed and released *I Don’t Want to Save the World*, followed in 2010 by *Song From a Bell Tower*. They received excellent press reviews, and their live performances were equally impressive, notably at the Bataclan and the Olympia in 2011.
In 2014, having settled in Paris, Peter Kingsbery worked on Cock Robin’s new album: “Chinese Driver”. This was to be Cock Robin’s first album without Anna Lacazio. He completed the album in 2015 whilst performing a large number of sold-out concerts to mark the 30th anniversary of his first hits, “When Your Heart Is Weak” and “Remember The Promise You Made”. This gave the audience the chance to discover and appreciate the band’s new sound as a trio. The album *Chinese Driver* was released on 11 March 2016. The album features Peter Kingsbery’s irresistible voice, his extraordinary talent as a lyricist, delightful, classy and contemporary electronic sounds, as well as several covers that the singer is particularly fond of and which he has rearranged for the occasion. The album’s release will be followed by 36 concerts.
On 7 April 2017, the band released a five-track EP entitled “Lollobrigida”, featuring notably “Roman Holiday” – the first track composed by Peter Kingsbery and Coralie Vuillemin – and the 2017 version of the hit “Thought You Were On My Side”.
In early 2018, Peter Kingsbery returned to the bass, and the band’s sound was enriched by the addition of an electric guitarist for their live shows.
2020: The band entered the studio to record their new album, “Homo Alien”, which is due for release on 17 September 2021.
2027: After a five-year hiatus from live performances, Cock Robin returns for a tour entitled “85–89”. The tour will take them across Europe with a setlist based exclusively on the band’s first three albums.
