Blainville-Crevon

In the heart of the remains of the medieval castle of Blainville-Crevon (15 minutes from Rouen), some of the biggest names on the French and international jazz scene will gather from 24 to 27 June 2026. The 47th edition of Normandy’s Archéo Jazz Festival will bring together jazz lovers and big acts!

Jazz, Blues and World Music in a historic setting

Archéo Jazz is one of the highlights of the summer in Normandy! The event takes place in the heart of the remains of a medieval castle, creating a magical atmosphere where music and history meet. Over the course of several days, the festival will host internationally renowned jazz musicians as well as talented local bands. Styles range from traditional jazz to modern fusions, offering a wide palette of sounds.

This year’s headliners are Keziah Jones,Saint Clair, Al Di Mola and Asaf Avidan .

Getting volunteers involved

In 1967, a group of young people came up with a crazy idea: to bring the castle back to life! They started an excavation project.

The castle dates from the 11th century and was built on a feudal mound. Today it lies in ruins, but there are still some beautiful remains from the 15th and 16th centuries. In order to finance the excavations, the volunteers came up with the idea of organising a music festival. Archéo Jazz was born in 1977, and is held every year at the end of June in this beautiful setting.

Coming here to listen to music is an act of commitment! Throughout the year, volunteers work to protect the site of the Blainville-Crevon castle and bring it back to life.

Artists who have performed at the festival include Claude Nougaro, Jimmy Cliff, Buena Vista Social Club and Michel Jonasz. And more recently Ibrahim Maalouf, Jamie Cullum, James Blunt, Charlie Winston, Kimberose, Véronique Sanson and many others.
