Uncover all of the secrets behind calvados production on the site of the oldest calvados distillery, Père Magloire. The Calvados Père Magloire L’Experience provides an immersive, multi-sensory experience for old and young alike, aimed at sharing the great story of Calvados and how the spirit has evolved over the years from being enjoyed in Normandy alone to becoming an internationally-beloved beverage. Learn about Normandy apples, traditional production methods and the many varieties of calvados, before trying out a selection of different vintages (or apple juice for youngsters) in the tasting room.

PRESS YOUR OWN JUICE at the Musée du Poiré

Every Monday and Thursday this October, families can come and collect apples in the Musée du Poiré‘s very own orchard, then learn about the different stages of juice production. As part of the Pressons ! Pressons !’ [Press! Press!] workshop, families can work together to wash, crush and press all of the fruit they’ve collected and, as a little bonus, they can leave with a delicious bottle of juice made with all of the apples and pears that they’ve collected!

Take a tour of the MANOIR D’APREVAL cider farm

Help collect the apples, learn about the fermentation process and discover the secrets of producing good cider, all amid idyllic country surroundings just a stone’s throw from the pretty harbour town of Honfleur. At the end of your tour of the cider farm, sample some cider, pommeau and calvados (opr apple juice for the little ones). If you visit in October half-term you can also take part in a quiz to see how much you can remember from the tour!
