We have completely renovated in 2021 this house built in 1836 and its garden to make it a guest house and share our taste for the Côte de Nacre and its history. Located in the village of Saint-Aubin sur Mer, the villa is 100 m from the beach, the seawall with its cafés and restaurants. The decoration of each of the 4 rooms combines design and vintage to evoke one of the decades of the "thirty glorious years" until the "70s". The breakfast is composed of regional products or prepared on the spot. We will be very happy to meet you and to guide you, if you wish, to take advantage of the tourist and cultural resources of the region. See you soon!
Room 50: changes are accelerating, industrially produced furniture, especially Scandinavian, is spreading: the Oskar modular storage and reading lights are Danish. The Standard chair was designed by Jean Prouvé for industrial production with a very solid system using folded sheet metal. Floor lamp, armchair and coffee table are furniture created in 1958, and reissued for the 60th anniversary of the opening of the first IKEA store. The poster of the Leger exhibition was bought on the spot in 1954, Masson's Cat-Bird (1951) is a testimony of the autumn of surrealism, while Vostan's collage (1959) is typical of the "lyrical" abstraction of the 50s. On your way out, say hello to the "house bird" (actually a bird made for hunters brought back from a trip by the design couple Ray and Charles Eames).
