The Jardins Vert Framboise Grocery Shop & Tea Room
In Beaufour-Druval, Les Jardins Vert-Framboise embodies a gourmet take on local produce, combining a delicatessen, a tea room and home-made produce. Here, Sandrine and Georges Daccache have created a place where harvesting, processing and tasting all take place as part of a single experience. The venue brings together several different worlds in a very natural setting: market gardening, a delicatessen, patisserie, chocolate and confectionery, local produce, as well as options tailored to vegan and vegetarian tastes and takeaway options.
At the heart of the project is a forest garden of fruit and soft fruit, harvested and processed on site, then sold in their delicatessen, which also serves as a tea room. The estate covers 3.5 hectares of unspoilt countryside and uses permaculture principles to develop a space focused on biodiversity. It features fruit trees, fruit bushes, edible flowers, aromatic herbs and even a greenhouse vegetable patch. The variety of plants sets the tone, with red and black berries, as well as almond and pomegranate trees.
On-site processing plays a key role. A workshop is used to process the harvest using various methods, such as lacto-fermentation, dehydration and canning. On the plate and in the jars, this translates into a varied range: pickles, compotes, fruit jellies, sweets, macarons and even chocolates. Together, these elements make for a destination that appeals as much to lovers of sweet treats as to those curious about more original plant-based flavours.
Les Jardins Vert-Framboise is also a place to take a break. You can savour the creations on the spot, take some specialities home with you and, if you wish, extend the experience with a guided tour of the forest garden (available on request). A programme of culinary events, such as farm-style brunches, themed meals and local festivals, is offered throughout the year, subject to booking. A truly unique stop-off, combining gourmet culture, lush natural surroundings and a taste for the homemade.
