Les Toqués du Terroir
Les Toqués du Terroir" began as a friendship between Clarie, a chef, and Chloé, a former food journalist. For the past twenty years, they have been scouring the lands of France and Navarre in search of the best products from each region. And this shared passion has come to fruition on rue des Bains, in Trouville-sur-Mer.
After a year and a half spent on the roads of Normandy, meeting our producers and artisans, who are also obviously “Toqués du Terroir”, the two young women have set up this general grocery store, 100% local and 100% militant. After all, isn’t it essential today to consume better and go back to basics?
In fact, for the past year, at 46 rue des Bains, you’ll find only the best traditional Normandy products – beverages, vinegars, oysters, fish terrines, andouille de Vire or teurgoule – as well as other more original but just as Normandy: saffron, chorizo, pipi du Dragon, Pastis – and yes! – cosmetics and handicrafts!
But make no mistake, at Les Toqués, you can also eat every day: legumes, cheeses, butters, smoked fish, charcuterie, potatoes and leeks – most of them organic – happily share the store space on two levels. After a rigorous selection process.
What’s more, you can be sure of a warm welcome from the two affable, passionate and perfectionist young women. In fact, the regulars make no mistake about it, and sometimes meet up just for the pleasure of a chat. Producers, too, are often invited to come and showcase their work.
It’s part of the charm of this charming and elegant local grocery store to give real Normandy produce the attention and renown it deserves. Clarie and Chloé advise and share a thousand meticulously chosen anecdotes and revelations on a daily basis to whet your appetite. Their aim is to make you even more enthusiastic about the successes of our incomparable and irreplaceable Normandy region, and to help you become the new “Toqués du Terroir Normand”.
