Who was the famous William the Conqueror? What was life like in his day? You’ll find out by stepping into the shoes of the Duke’s companions on this historical treasure hunt, which might just lead you… to the conquest of England!
The treasure hunt begins with a journey back to the time of William the Conqueror. In the heart of his duchy, you’ll be told everything you need to know to succeed in the challenges that lie ahead: who was this young duke? Why did he establish his capital in Caen? And why, having finally laid the foundations of his power in Normandy, did he decide to leave his duchy to set out to conquer England?
Working in teams, you’ll then set off in search of architectural details in Caen’s city centre pedestrian zone. Your discoveries will lead you to a secret envelope to decode. It contains strategic information provided by the duke’s spies: is he the only one who wants to conquer England? And what are his opponents’ weaknesses? The teams that manage to devise a strategy will then be able to take part in the conquest of England through a game of charades!
