Private tour

**Private car tours – Discover Normandy in a different way**

Normandy Explorations offers private, tailor-made guided tours to help you discover Normandy’s history, landscapes and heritage. Accompanied by a certified local guide, explore the region according to your interests, at your own pace and within the time you have available.

Specialising in the history of the D-Day landings in June 1944, particularly in the American sector, we also offer tours dedicated to Normandy’s heritage, charming villages, the coastline and the countryside. From a few hours to several days, each itinerary can be tailored to your requirements.

### The Normandy Discovery Tour: our flagship five-day tour

**The Normandy Discovery Tour** is our signature experience for travellers wishing to explore Normandy in depth, without having to organise every stage of their stay themselves.

Over five days, set off to explore the region’s must-see sites, its coastal landscapes and countryside, combining history, heritage and local discoveries. The itinerary can include the D-Day beaches, American military sites, historic villages and other iconic locations in Normandy.

This experience focuses on an in-depth and personalised exploration, combining the major must-see attractions with lesser-known sites, tailored to the participants’ interests.

The itinerary is tailor-made, taking into account your preferences, availability and travel arrangements. Pick-up arrangements can be organised from Bayeux, Caen, Cherbourg or Le Havre, as well as from Paris on request.

Accommodation is organised separately, allowing travellers to choose the option that suits them best. We can also recommend partner accommodation providers and local establishments.

### Our private tours dedicated to the D-Day landings

For visitors wishing to focus on the events of 6 June 1944 and the Battle of Normandy, we offer several private tours allowing you to explore the main historical sites, with a particular focus on American operations.

**The Essential D-Day Tour – A half-day introductory tour**

This tour is ideal for visitors with limited time who wish to discover the must-see sites in the American sector. Depending on the chosen itinerary, it includes visits to Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery in Normandy and Pointe du Hoc.

**The Complete American Experience – A full day of exploration**

This tour allows you to explore the two American D-Day landing sectors, Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, in greater depth. The programme may also include Sainte-Mère-Église and other significant sites, to provide a better understanding of the course of military operations and what was at stake.

**The Ultimate D-Day Journey – A two-day historical immersion**

Designed for history enthusiasts and visitors wishing to delve deeper, this two-day experience allows you to explore the D-Day beaches, military positions, memorials and lesser-known sites associated with the Battle of Normandy.

These packages serve as a starting point for exploration: the stops, itineraries and time spent at each site can be tailored to visitors’ preferences.

### Your tour, your vehicle, your pace

Flexibility is at the heart of what Normandy Explorations offers.

Depending on the package chosen and the agreed arrangements, tours can be conducted **in our vehicle or in the clients’ own vehicle**, with personalised guidance from the guide.

Travelling by private car allows you to travel comfortably between sites that are sometimes far apart, whilst enjoying a more personalised tour than a group excursion.

The itinerary, stops and pace are tailored to the participants’ preferences, their available time and any practical constraints. Whether you wish to focus on military history, explore the Normandy countryside or combine several themes, each tour is designed to meet your expectations.

### Beyond the D-Day landings: the full richness of Normandy

Whilst the history of D-Day is a key focus of our expertise, Normandy offers many other opportunities for exploration.

Depending on your interests, the tours can include coastal landscapes (Étretat, the ‘Côte Fleurie’…), charming villages, historic towns (Mont Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, Honfleur…), rural heritage (water mills…), traditional crafts and local producers.

Thanks to a network of local partners, we can also organise complementary experiences centred on nature, culture, leisure activities (hiking, e-bikes, drone tours) and regional specialities, subject to availability and the chosen programme.

For travellers wishing to explore various aspects of the region, multi-day itineraries can be tailored to combine historical visits, cultural discoveries and the landscapes of Normandy.

### A personalised experience for couples, families and small groups

Normandy Explorations welcomes couples, families, individual travellers and small private groups, subject to vehicle capacity and the specific conditions of each service.

Our approach prioritises quality interaction, flexibility and personalisation. Visitors can ask questions, explore topics that interest them in greater depth, take their time photographing the sights and tailor their experience to their preferences.

From a tour lasting a few hours to a five-day guided holiday, our aim is to offer an enriching, friendly and authentic experience.

**With Normandy Explorations, discover Normandy your way: choose one of our tours or let’s work together to create a bespoke itinerary, in our vehicle or your own, accompanied by a certified local guide.**

Normandy Explorations’ other activities (hiking, e-bike tours, drone tours, a visit to the Moulin de la Bretonnière, and a horse-drawn carriage tour of the marshes) can be incorporated into these multi-day itineraries. Characterful accommodation is also available through Normandie Heritage 14 (further information at Normandieheritage14.com)
