OTER Sauna is a mobile wood-fired sauna set up overlooking the sea on the Normandy coast. A 55-minute ritual combining Scandinavian heat, a cold seawater dip and an aromatic ritual with essential oils, all whilst enjoying views of the English Channel, just a stone’s throw from your home.
“Our wood-fired sauna is set up facing the sea in Bernières-sur-Mer and Langrune-sur-Mer. Its large floor-to-ceiling window opens onto a sweeping panorama of the English Channel: a clear horizon where the sea becomes the backdrop to the ritual.
For 55 minutes, the experience follows the Nordic rhythm. The heat from the stove envelops the body whilst your gaze drifts towards the horizon. Between sessions in the heat, everyone is free to extend the experience in their own way: a dip in the cool waters of the English Channel or a few moments in the fresh air.
Even under the summer sun, the sauna remains a welcome retreat. The dry heat promotes relaxation, whilst the coolness of the sea creates a particularly invigorating contrast. And when the wind picks up or the Normandy sky turns more capricious, the fire continues to crackle inside.
Every moment of the day has its own atmosphere, accompanied by carefully selected essential oils. In the morning, the ritual invites you to awaken your body and mind. In the evening, it invites you to slow down and release the day’s tensions. After a trip out to sea, a hike or a run along the coast, the experience naturally prolongs the moment.
Upon leaving, it’s hard to put into words but impossible to miss: the body is relaxed, the mind clearer, and that sense of well-being lingers long after the session.
