In the heart of Normandy, discover a rare cultural hotspot in a 12th century watermill, a place where everything is possible. Located between Paris and Rouen along an arm of the river Seine, the Mill of Andé is an exceptional place. A half-timbered building from the end of the 12th century, this mill with a vertical wheel and its original machinery is listed a Historic Monument. Since 1962, it has welcomed artists in residence, writers, film directors, actors and musicians. Romy Schneider, François Truffaut, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Georges Perec, Jacques Dutronc, to name but a few, stayed there… Performances are regularly organised in the winter garden, converted into a theatre. The Mill of Andé has always been a productive refuge for artists since 1957 and New Wave artists. It has become since 1998 a permanent centre dedicated to screenwriting called CECI.
It is also possible to stay there in the B&B and to enjoy a table d'hôtes meal.
