Guided tour of the Men's Abbey

Dominated by the abbey church of Saint-Etienne, a jewel of Romanesque and Gothic architecture housing the tomb of its illustrious founder, the Abbaye aux Hommes is a central place in the history and life of the people of Caen. The guided tour takes visitors on a journey through the history of the Abbey and its prestigious buildings, such as the cloister and the Salle des Gardes, which make up one of the most beautiful town halls in France.
The Scriptorium of Caen’s 18th-century Abbaye-aux-Hommes, now the town hall, hosts exhibitions on a variety of themes throughout the year.
The Abbaye aux Hommes also warns that guided tours on Saturdays are uncertain due to wedding celebrations.
