Guided tour of the Maladrerie I underground quarries – FULL
The Caen-la-Mer Tourist Office organises guided tours of the Maladrerie underground quarries. The Maladrerie quarries were in operation from the 17th to the 19th century and were temporarily reopened for the construction of the Memorial in the 1980s. Now no longer in use, they have recently been refurbished to allow tours to be organised in complete safety. Following a perfectly accessible, well-lit and signposted route, you will discover the large extraction chambers of this world-renowned stone.
(The tour is not suitable for children under 12 and lasts approximately 1 hour 15 minutes) – By booking only (17 people per tour slot)
