On 6 June 1944, the beaches of Normandy were the scene of a decisive turning point in the Second World War: accompany your pupils on this historic day, to understand and honour the courage and sacrifice that marked this crucial event.
Day 1
Arrival in La Manche in the morning. Guided tour of the D-Day Museum on Utah Beach, the very spot where American troops landed in Normandy on 6 June 1944. After lunch, visit the D-Day Experience museum in Carentan, which combines education and entertainment in a place steeped in history.
Day 2
Day trip to Sainte-Mère Eglise. Visit to the Airborne Museum, dedicated to American paratroopers. After lunch, guided tour around Utah Beach and Sainte-Mère-Église: you will learn about the operations carried out by the American units on this seafront and the airborne divisions dropped around Sainte-Mère-Église.
Day 3
Guided tour of the Azeville Battery, one of the first elements of the Atlantic Wall: its construction, the life of the occupying troops and their relationship with the local population. Take part in an educational workshop on the theme of the Shoah, optics or writing.
