Creative weeks at Les Franciscaines (7-11 years)
To understand the current exhibitions, discover all forms of art and, above all, explore their own creativity, children are invited to learn through hands-on activities. Led by an art educator, the one- to four-day course follows in the footsteps of the most famous artists.
Tuesday 20 > Friday 23 October: The story behind the photo
Guided by photographer Émeline Sauser, children will unpick the stories that photographs tell us: why does this photo move us? What can we imagine from what it doesn’t show? By combining drawing and storytelling with the medium of photography, the images become an inexhaustible source of creativity and imagination.
Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th October: Photography in all its forms
Photographer Flore Prébay invites children to explore the image as a playground for experimentation and imagination. Through various artistic techniques, they will discover that a photograph can be transformed, reinvented, told as a story, or even become the starting point for a story.
Tuesday 22 > Thursday 24 December: The passing of time
Words fade away, but works of art remain! Art and objects are often the only remaining evidence of our predecessors’ tastes. The children set out on a quest to explore the passage of time and create works that bear witness to the passing down of traditions between generations. From past fashions to historical archives, including the artists who have left their mark on the history of the Franciscan Sisters.
Tuesday 29 > Thursday 31 December: The Bicentenary of Photography
As part of the Bicentenary of Photography, the children discover the diversity of approaches in photography: cyanotypes, collages, paint highlights… As heirs to a technique perfected 200 years ago, these young photographers draw inspiration from the Franciscaines’ photographic collections.
