Cabourg Beach
Stretching for 4 km, Cabourg’s fine sandy beach is the ideal place to enjoy the benefits of the seaside. It is bordered by a pedestrian-only promenade offering panoramic views of the Côte de Nacre, the Côte Fleurie and Le Havre, all set against a charming Belle Époque backdrop with numerous late 19th- and early 20th-century villas lining the seafront. Nicknamed ‘The Romantics’ Beach’, Cabourg beach reveals its many facets:
Family-friendly, with its two beach clubs offering children trampolines, inflatable play structures, fun activities, swimming lessons…
Sporty: swimming, coastal walking, beach volleyball, horse riding, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, sand yachting…
Lively: throughout the summer, the beach hosts a wide range of entertainment for young and old alike. Sandcastle competitions, ‘Les Toiles de Mer’, beach volleyball tournaments, the ‘Dîner sur la Digue’ and so much more!
Accessible: at the central lifeguard station, opposite the Grand Hôtel, a gentle slope and a polymer mat provide access to the sand for people with reduced mobility. A Tiralo is also available for hire from the lifeguard station.
During the season, Les Bains offers sun loungers, parasols and beach huts for hire, so you can enjoy the sea in complete comfort!
Dogs are allowed on the beach opposite the dunes at Pointe de Cap Cabourg, at the eastern end of Cabourg, all year round. They are prohibited on all other parts of the beach throughout the year.
Horses are permitted on the beach 2 hours before and 2 hours after low tide, subject to the ban on horses on the beach between 11.00 and 19.00 every day from 15 May to 15 September, and at weekends, public holidays and long weekends from 16 September to 14 May. Check the tide times.
Cabourg beach is patrolled during the season by four lifeguard stations.
In 2026, swimming will be supervised from the four lifeguard stations every day from 11.30 am to 6.30 pm, from 4 July to 30 August. The central lifeguard station is open at weekends and on public holidays from May to mid-September, from 2.00 pm to 6.30 pm.
