Bénerville-sur-Mer Beach
Here, there are no fewer than three beaches to explore: Lais de Mer beach, on the border with Tourgéville, La Garenne beach and Les Ammonites beach. La Garenne beach is the liveliest during the season, with its pedestrian promenade and kids’ club. Ammonites Beach, which is larger and more unspoilt, runs alongside the Yves Saint-Laurent promenade, which leads to Blonville-sur-Mer at low tide. It is named after the fashion designer who, in 1983, bought Château Gabriel, where the great publisher Gallimard once lived.
ACCESS
Access to the beach is via Rue des Lais de Mer and its perpendicular streets (Avenue Saint-Michel (extended), Avenue Maréchal Foch, Avenue Victor Caillau). You can park for free on Rue des Lais de Mer, Boulevard de Bénerville and Rue Pierre Roucher. From April to November, parking is subject to a charge on Rue Victor Caillau, Avenue du Maréchal Foch, the Ammonites car park, the Garenne car park (next to the bakery) and the Avenue du Littoral car park. Rue Gaston Gallimard is a blue zone all year round.
ANIMALS
Riding horses, pack animals and domestic pets are permitted:
– from 1 May to 30 September before 10.00 and after 19.00, at low tide only
– on all other days of the year, with no time restrictions
– dogs must be kept on a lead
LIFEGUARD SERVICE
The beach is patrolled every day from 1 July to 31 August, from 11.30 am to 6.30 pm, at two locations: the Tourgéville lifeguard station and the Ammonites beach lookout post.
