Brought to life by five actors and actresses who passionately embody some twenty characters, this adaptation of Balzac’s novel focuses on the meteoric rise and terrible fall of the young poet Lucien Chardon in Paris, at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. In this play, which won the Syndicat de la Critique’s Grand Prix for Best Theatre Production in 2022, Pauline Bayle continues her quest for a literary, raw and incandescent form of theatre.
