Théâtre : le livre de K
The Tuesday 15 December at 20 a.m00
Boulevard de Normandie Le Cadran 27000 EVREUX
A kingdom of snow. A one-eyed tyrant. Twins. Faced with oppression, one slides toward power, the other joins the resistance. Their story takes shape under the pen of a dying writer. Along the way, Franz Kafka and his mist-shrouded castle appear, as do Anna Akhmatova and her verses whispered in the darkness. An ode to the power of poetry in the face of barbarism. A tale that brings light to an ocean of ice.
In the town below the castle, Alma and Mathe?o grow up with a deaf mother, raised on sign language. But soon the brother and sister drift apart, swept away on opposing journeys in the face of the world’s violence.
Simon Falguières writes and directs an %AB introspective journey through the labyrinth of writing %BB, a poetic plunge into the mazes of creation. He also explores the reasons behind political activism.
In a bare space, characters—with no specific setting or time period—clash in a sort of nightmare. The playwright and director weaves together narratives, creates dual versions of his characters, blends foreign languages, and fully integrates French Sign Language. He draws on folktales and fables, the uncanny and the absurd, to bring to life the resilience of art, poetry, and theater.
A production presented by Tangram, a national theater company
