Théâtre : L'art d'avoir toujours raison
The Monday 30 November at 20 a.m00
Théâtre Legendre 27000 EVREUX
The Interdisciplinary Research Group for Access to Elected Office (look up the acronym!) is not lacking in either ideas or boldness. To see this for yourself, just listen to two scientists—members of this group—who took the stage to present their “simple, quick, and foolproof method for winning an election.” They offer advice, explaining what to do and what to avoid in order to… always be right.
On stage: two lecterns and the inevitable PowerPoint presentation, with projections of charts, photos of illustrious “role models,” and other projected posters. Two accomplices who expose semantic slippage, catch-all neologisms, flawed yet seductive fallacies, and rhetoric that’s fragile despite appearances. They have no qualms. The lesson can begin…
The examples are bewildering; the quotes are improbable yet authentic. The audience witnesses a thorough dismantling of the tricks and deceptions of communication, a %ABpuzzle-like%BB breakdown of discourse and its inner workings.
Candidates, welcome to the seminar. Don’t miss the lesson. It’s as unstoppable as it is scathing. It’s as funny as it is brilliant. It’s well-researched, well-argued, and properly political.
The Interdisciplinary Research Group for Access to Elected Office (did you figure out the acronym?) makes a big splash!
a show presented by Tangram, a national theater company
