Or how to %AB take the words %BB from a radio show and %AB reenact %BB them on stage! On December 4, 2021, Alain Finkielkraut welcomed philosopher Camille Froidevaux-Metterie and essayist Jean-Michel Delacompte to France Culture. This was a program unlike any other for Anne-Sophie Pauchet, who took this recording and decided to bring it to life, %AB without altering it and by highlighting its eminently theatrical aspect %BB.
Together with Julien Flament and Juliette Lamour, they will therefore perform this %ABradio play%BB, the subject of which was “Men and Women Today: The Evolution and Revolution of Gender Relations.” An ambitious theme.
In the face of patriarchal discourse, has the feminist struggle borne fruit? The debate is lively, the battle is fierce, but in this re-enactment, the body is there, visible. The title, a reference to Michel Houellebecq cited in the program, suggests the element of humor brought to this act of appropriation, which claims to be %AB a feminist, joyful, and cathartic proposition%BB. Gestures, facial expressions, and postures give way to what we hadn’t seen… on the radio. The relevance and timeliness of the remarks seem all the more reinforced. With Juliette Richards’ musical “variation” suggesting a sense of detachment, we witness a sort of live replay with a magnifying effect. It’s no longer “at the theater tonight” but “at the radio theater.” It’s true that the original program is titled *Répliques*.
