Théâtre : Entre nous les murs : Immortels
The Thursday 05 November at 20 a.m00
Théâtre Legendre 27000 EVREUX
*Entre nous les murs* consists of four plays that form a tetralogy but can be viewed independently. Quebec author Marie-Claude Verdier and director Julien Bouffier have imagined a “City” where the audience member becomes a resident, and they tackle head-on stories inspired by ancient myths in which the rigidity of power and maturity clash with a rebellious youth, eager for freedom.
We are presenting the first three parts as outdoor performances using the same staging setup. The actors move among the audience (the people) gathered in the hall (within the “Cité”). Equipped with wireless headphones, the %AB citizen-spectator %BB can choose to hear either the %AB official version %BB provided by a soundtrack or its %AB off-screen %BB version. An immersive approach that sparks the imagination and draws the audience into the drama, as well as into the characters’ intentions, struggles, and doubts. The fourth and final installment is performed at the Théâtre Legendre
And that makes four for the creative duo, Marie-Claude Verdier and Julien Bouffier. The dystopian threshold has been crossed. The future is… here, and the fantastical is in full force. The City is destroyed, and nothing remains except a strange space where actors and audience members come together—and it’s called a… theater! The project, inspired by the myths of Greek theater, returns to its place of origin, inviting the audience to return to the sanctuary where myths are born. Amid the surrounding chaos, Andy never returned from his quest for love. His sister, the aptly named Mnemo—still a teenager—is organizing a musical celebration, a tribute, a ceremony in his memory. This moment will be an opportunity to trace the story back to its roots, to recount the origins of theater. The references are there. Torn families. Rivalries among descendants. Thwarted loves. Songs of seduction, gouged-out eyes…
