Speaking out as one: break the silence – stop violence against women!

The Thursday 19 November at 19 a.m00

Au Charbon 4 rue Émile Heroult 14470 COURSEULLES-SUR-MER

Seven women, seven unique stories that shed light on violence against women and give a voice – with emotion, humour and commitment – to what all too often remains hidden.

As part of the campaign leading up to 25 November, the Curiosity Club in Caen, in partnership with the charity Déploie tes Elles, invites you to discover ‘Regarde-Moi’, a performance-based talk that blends life stories, personal accounts, dialogues and speeches to tackle a subject that is as intimate as it is profoundly societal. Through their experiences, these women – all victims of violence – invite us to question what we see and hear, but also everything that lies hidden behind appearances and silences.

Because violence is not always visible, because it takes many forms and is sometimes difficult to identify, this talk aims to put into words realities that are all too often downplayed, trivialised or ignored.

Domestic violence, incest, rape, child abuse, violence in sport, sexual coercion, etc. These are all horrors experienced by these women; they are not isolated incidents, because they concern us all.

Seven women, seven voices, one stage to tell their stories, ask questions, challenge preconceptions and, perhaps, bring about change. Come and listen, feel, reflect, discuss… and above all, watch.

This evening, with its very unique format, will be hosted by the bubbly Anne Boétie, who will orchestrate these speeches to perfection!
