PROFESSIONALS AND AMATEURS: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
Throughout the year, the Centre organises competitions reserved for amateur and professional riders, who compete in around ten events, including the Pro Grand Prix, the grand finale on Sunday afternoon. The amateur-level competition is based on the principle of sport for leisure, combining the requirements of rigour, entertainment and a friendly atmosphere. The professional-level competition, meanwhile, brings together competitors focused on top-level competition and performance.
A YEAR-ROUND SERIES
This competition forms part of the Deauville Top Ten, a circuit organised by the Longines – Deauville International Equestrian Centre and reserved for amateur riders competing in the following categories: Amateurs 1 and Elite, Amateurs 2 and 3. The various rounds allow rider-horse pairs to accumulate points to qualify for the finals. Only the top ten pairs in each category will compete in the final in November.
