Léon is 10 years old and has loads of interests, but one of them takes up more of his time than the others: Léon loves history!
He is growing up in a small village near the sea, right next to the D-Day beaches.
Whilst books have taught him a great deal, it is Hélène who has helped him understand what life was like during the Second World War.
Hélène is Léon’s grandmother, but when she tells him about her childhood, it is as if two 10-year-olds were getting to know one another.
The war, ration cards, captivity, the Occupation, the Resistance… Hélène saw it all through a child’s eyes. She shares her memories with Léon, forging a precious and unbreakable bond between them.
