Professional horseball tournament
The Saturday 05 December
Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville 14 avenue Ox and Bucks 14800 SAINT-ARNOULT
Players, horses and referees are gathering in Deauville for a professional horseball competition. Two days of great sport in store!
WHAT IS HORSEBALL?
Inspired by rugby, basketball and the Argentine sport of pato, horseball involves two teams of six players (four on the pitch and two substitutes) on a 70x30m pitch with two goals at either end. The aim is to score as many goals as possible. To score, there must be at least three passes between three different players. Note that players are not allowed to hold the ball for more than 10 seconds!
DID YOU KNOW?
Most of the horses used in horseball are retired thoroughbreds from racing. It’s a wonderful new career for these top-class athletes once their racing careers are over.
