Music Reading by Christophe Tostain

"Dérives" is the new poetic narrative by Christophe TOSTAIN, published by Éditions La Page Blanche in 2025.
In “Dérives”, a man leaves his home village and sets out to conquer a “Mega City”, convinced that he will find a more fulfilling life there. But once he arrives, the reality is quite different: odd jobs, precarious living conditions, temporary accommodation, high-pressure work and ‘uberisation’ punctuate his journey.
Through this contemporary epic, Christophe Tostain takes a critical look at society, work and human relationships, with writing that is at once poetic, rhythmic and full of imagination, which he will delight in interpreting, proclaiming, chanting and singing … to music he has composed himself.
