Montagnes Show | Mélanie Giffard & Nicolas Camus

The Wednesday 11 November at 15 a.m30

Chorège CDCN 14700 FALAISE

A show for children aged 6 months to 6 years and their families

Rocks, mountain peaks, caves, avalanches and clouds: all serve as playgrounds for the imagination

Conceived as a contemplative and poetic journey, the piece invites young children and adults alike to observe the transformations of matter, sound and bodies.
On stage, two performers traverse a landscape comprising a grey floor, a rock and a mountain of paper. The choreography centres on walking, climbing, moving amongst the materials and the relationship between bodies. Balance, counterbalance and support form the structure of the dance.
The bodies take on different states: the grazing animal, the explorer climbing uphill, the gaze fixed on the landscape, the encounter and the relationship with the other. In turn, they embody different materials: the moving stone, the fragile mountain, the denser rock.
The piece combines dance, music and song.
The performance is followed by a period of exploration with the children. This second part invites the little ones to step into the landscape themselves, to encounter the materials, sounds and elements of the set.

The show will be followed by a snack and then a parent-child workshop entitled ‘Bodies & Landscapes’, subject to booking (€2 per person – 1 hour)
