La mémoire du limon, hommage à Claude Monet

The Friday 30 October at 10 a.m00

Musée Blanche Hoschedé-Monet, 12 rue du Pont 27200 VERNON

Lionel Sabatté, a unique figure on the contemporary art scene and a nominee for the 2025 Marcel Duchamp Prize, creates works using recycled or organic materials marked by the passage of time. He works with wood, stone, metal, and found objects to create sculptures, installations, and portraits imbued with meaning and emotion.

An artist of the impure and the residual, he collected silt from the water lily pond during its dredging to make a pigment, which he used in silkscreen prints based on archival and contemporary photographs. In this way, he offers an organic immersion into the world of memory and possibility found in Claude Monet’s water and flower gardens in Giverny.
