Why is a Frenchman buried in the Canadian military cemetery at Bény-sur-Mer? Long shrouded in mystery, the story of Marceau Guénard has been largely pieced together thanks to research carried out in 2025 by Sibylle Hecht, a genealogist and friend of the Juno Beach Centre.
During this presentation, Sibylle will recount her investigation, which has given a name, a face and a story back to this young French resistance fighter who fought alongside the Canadians during the Battle of Normandy.
