Long-standing leading figures in French jazz, with an appreciation for all forms of improvisation and a passion for folk music, it was only natural that these two musicians and friends should come together for this project, keen to create music that transcends aesthetic genres.
The piano/guitar combination proves to be original, rich and demanding, striking a balance between harmonic richness and melodic simplicity. Their repertoire consists mainly of original compositions, conceived as ‘songs without words’, deliberately blending jazz, folk and improvisation… There are also a few covers: Keith Jarrett, Richie Furay (Buffalo Springfield). The quality of the sound and the importance of the melodic line are always emphasised: an acoustic and intimate setting that serves elegant and subtle music, through which emotion, rapport and quite simply the joy of playing shine through.
