Festival Anthroposcènes 2027 : Dimanche

The Monday 10 May at 20 a.m00

Boulevard de Normandie Le Cadran 27000 EVREUX

It’s Sunday, at home, with the family, peaceful… Not quite, because outside, the elements are raging. Global warming has invited itself to the table, between the pear and the cheese. Yet the residents remain unperturbed. Well, almost. Amid this (awful!) weather, a team of intrepid reporters is preparing a documentary series on the last animal species still alive on Earth. They share a common concern: the climate—its change, its upheaval, its warming.

Imagine a few characters, straight out of a Wes Anderson film, confronted with extreme temperatures, towering waves, and a blizzard powerful enough to knock the wind out of an ox. Chairs and tables are swept away; the fury bursts into everyday life. Add miniature cars, large puppets, various levitating objects, video images, as well as a stairlift—not to mention a stork and a bear (a polar bear, of course)… You get a small sense of this theater of movement and manipulation steeped in absurdity pushed to the absolute limit of chaos.

Born from a collective, cinematic writing process, this show is as burlesque as can be. The creators and actors skillfully play with makeshift props and resourcefulness, with the jarringly unusual yet relevant. They possess a Hellzapoppian and Groucho-Marxian inventiveness, but within a reality that is far less cheerful and more alarming. There’s plenty of laughter, but it’s tinged with anxiety.
