Equidays: Flat races at Deauville-La Touques Racecourse
The Monday 19 October at 12 a.m45
Hippodrome de Deauville-La Touques 14800 DEAUVILLE
Initiated and inaugurated by the Duke of Morny, the Deauville-La Touques racecourse held its first two meetings on 14 and 15 August 1864. Over the years, a number of buildings were added to enhance and embellish the site: the weigh-in pavilion, grandstands and numerous landscaping improvements. In 1982, the racecourse acquired a training centre capable of accommodating 400 horses year-round and over 700 during the summer; in 2003, it became the first to open a fibre-reinforced sand track, allowing races to take place in all weathers!
An iconic showcase for thoroughbreds in Calvados, the Deauville-La Touques racecourse hosts over 40 race days each year, including several Group 1 races on its programme. Renowned for its Summer Meeting, it is in operation for seven months of the year and also organises an Autumn Meeting and a Winter Meeting. Dedicated exclusively to flat racing and spread over 70 hectares, it features three tracks and has a capacity of 10,000 spectators.
