From her early days in hip-hop in Saint-Nazaire, to a stint with a troupe led by a Brazilian choreographer, to a collaboration with Maguy Marin in *May B*… Dancer Leïla Ka’s eclectic background has allowed her to find her niche and create her own unique world. Following the solo piece *Pode ser* in 2021, the duet *C’est toi qu’on adore* in 2021, and the five-dancer production *Maldonne*, presented at Tangram in November 2025, Lei?la Ka is back with a new creation, this time for eight dancers.
Dressed in jeans, sweatpants, and T-shirts of different colors but united by a shared determination, the eight performers—%AB eight powerful women %BB—are invited to a %AB liberating and amplifying act of letting go %BB. The electronic music will provide the rhythm of %AB basslines that pound and thud%BB. The collective will take center stage.
There will be no restraint, no feigned or forced gestures, no stiff postures—but rather arched backs, %AB sweat and rhythm %BB, and %AB raw energy %BB.
With such a roadmap, there’s no doubt that once again, Lei?la Ka will deliver the powerful energy of its previous performances and its choreography, which has been acclaimed at the César Awards and during concerts by Beyoncé and Zaho de Sagazan.
