Contact Sheets Festival #17 – Lux Tour: ‘At the Heart of It All’ – Trigone Collective’s Photo Caravan

Over the course of a weekend, the Planches Contact Festival is hosting the LUX Tour, a travelling analogue photography studio caravan that criss-crosses France to meet the public. Through a unique, hands-on experience, young and old alike are invited to discover the magic of the darkroom whilst creating a very personal photograph.

The van will offer visitors a unique experience, thanks to the ‘À l’origine du Cœur’ project organised by the Collectif Trigone. The installation enables a photograph to be taken based on the participants’ heartbeat. Visitors are invited into the darkroom to trigger, via a process that captures heart rate, a photograph using their own heartbeat. Once developed, the photographs are digitised and then printed to be given to visitors. Each print is unique and represents a heartbeat at that precise moment in their lives.

A project organised by the LUX Network and recognised by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Bicentenary of Photography.
