Conférence Alexandre Dumas ou écrire l'histoire de France

Episode 1: The Many Facets of Alexandre Dumas, from the Theater to *The Count of Monte Cristo*, from Travel Stories to a Cookbook

Alexandre Dumas ranks among the giants of 19th-century literature. A playwright, novelist, author of memoirs and travelogues, creator of immortal characters, a Republican, and an unrepentant bon vivant, he notably brought the history of France to life in his novels. This series of lectures will focus on this aspect of his immense body of work.

By Gérard Gengembre, professor emeritus of French literature at the University of Caen and a specialist in the 19th century.
