This autumn’s intergenerational event!
We are delighted to present the programme for the sixth edition of our flagship FLASH event, ‘Dance in These Times’.
CAILLOUX is the second instalment in the series on childhood that began with KID#1.
Here, Joachim Maudet takes the sandpit and its symbolism as his subject of study, exploring the forces at play and the interactions between children. He seeks to portray bodies that are naive, innocent and uncodified.
Building on his work exploring the dissociation between body and voice, he has devised a vocal and sung piece, using ventriloquism, which acts as a counterpoint to the performers’ binary, raw and impactful actions. Acting as an additional layer of interpretation, this accumulation blurs the distinction between what we see and what we hear, creating worlds within worlds
