Salle Robert Métairie Derrière la mairie 14220 THURY-HARCOURT-LE-HOM

A heart-wrenching dilemma between empathy and the law!

In Brest harbour, it all begins with a fall. One man falls into the sea, whilst another is swept up in the maelstrom of an implacable fate. This Breton crime thriller centres on Martial Kermeur, an ordinary man for whom nothing predestined him to become a murderer. After pushing a crooked property developer into the cold waters of the harbour, he is arrested. Before the judge, he unravels the sequence of events. And little by little, a life unfolds. Little by little,
For behind this irreversible act lies a life marked by misfortune, a persistent run of bad luck that seems to dog him relentlessly. A single father, unemployed, a disillusioned idealist, Martial Kermeur once believed he could turn his life around. But his encounter with an unscrupulous con artist hastens his downfall: his savings gone, his dreams shattered, his future stolen. Until he reaches breaking point.
On stage, this deceptively simple tale becomes a dizzying plunge into a man’s consciousness. Somewhere between
a confession and an inner inquiry, the production explores the grey areas of justice, examines individual responsibility and questions our ‘innermost conviction’.
